News on Kimi

(from http://f1-live.net)

Press praise for Kimi Raikkonen

Tue 20 Mar, 09:20 AM

After the first F1 season since 1991 began without Michael Schumacher in Melbourne, that was how the widely circulated Italian newspaper La StampaKimi Raikkonen's winning debut at the wheel of a Ferrari. described

"Kimi: he smiles less but the substance is the same. Schumi is gone but Ferrari remains," the daily La Gazzetta dello Sport echoed.

Il Seccolo XIX headlined: "Kimi a la Schumi".

Corriere della Sera said: "Schumacher's legacy is in good hands".

Even Germany's Auto Motor und Sport fondly contrasted the generational-change at Maranello based Ferrari, observing that Raikkonen "secured his tenth Grand Prix win with a style that Michael would be proud of".

The Spanish Diario As, however, compared 'iceman' 27-year-old Raikkonen's podium antics with the famous 'Schumi-leap' of the departed seven time champion.

And referring to Spain's big hope Fernando Alonso, it observed: "The enemy is a Finn".

"Even when celebrating his victory, Raikkonen shows no emotion," the newspaper AsLa Gazzetta dello Sport agreed that, on the podium, "Kimi remains ice-cold". wrote, and

What a day!!!!!

AH!!!

I still can't shake off the excitement that has taken over me!!! Today's GP was the bomb! Kimi was effin awesome! He killed the track! He was the king of Melbourne for a day!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

Too bad Massa didn't finish in the top 3. But hey, it takes a lot for you to reach 5th place from the back of the grid! He's done a killer job, too. He could've been more fiece, though... but i understand that he's being very cautious because he didn't want to ruin the car thus ruin the team (and himself...).

While Lewis Hamilton smiled all the while during the podium ceremony and the press conference session, dear Mr Iceman only gave the slightest hint of joy. Well, he smiled, but not as wide as Hamilton. Ah... Mr Iceman kept his cool. But will he continue to keep his cool if he win the world championship this year? Or will ego overtake? We still have a long way to go, so let's just keep our fingers crossed hoping Kimi will stay the same :D

Ah, yes... Felipe. Dear, dear Felipe. I wish you all the luck you can get for the next race. (I'm going to be there for you... and for Kimi too :P) You have that bit of Schumi in you... I know you'll do good :D So keep it up!!! You're my man!

It's been a long time since I last heard the Finnish national anthem. I have a feeling I'll be hearing it a lot this year ;)

For Alonso: watch your back. Sooner or later, Hamilton's gonna catch up with you. You're going to have to keep two sharp eyes on him, Kimi and Felipe.

Sadly, before Kimi went up to the podium he received a phone call from Schumi but he couldn't hear anything due to the poor line (or was it due to the crowd outside???). Ah well, Schumi can catch up with him everytime.

And last but not least, here's a pic of my boys:

12-23 feb 07

I haven't written anything yet for last week. So i'm making it up now. haha.

Last week (thursday) I got my sem 2 results. I was very happy coz i got 79, which is distinction (>70 = distinction). The best part it, all of my results are above 70! Yay! I emailed my dad the results straight after i received the result slip. He was very pleased, and then he asked me whether i want something as a reward or not? I was a bit hesitant at first but i soon remembered that i'm 'craving' for Keane's Strangers DVD (the no.1 must have for Keane fans!). i was planning to order it myself, using my own money. I thought i'd give it a shot, i asked my dad if i can have the DVD as a reward. I was expecting no for an answer but hallellujah! My dad said "ok". I ordered the DVD that night. i was sooooo happy that day!

I went to Bukit Bintang with Intan on saturday to get our hair cut. Because it was our first time getting a hair cut here in malaysia, we didn't know where to go. So we walked around Sungei Wang plaza to find a salon that is not so expensive. We saw this one salon that has this sign board saying that hair cut only cost 28 ringgits, we decided to get the hair cut there. Stupidly, we just went inside without asking the price first. We got our hair cut (the hair cut was ok), and when we went to pay for them, we were shocked because we had to pay RM 68 each. What can we do? We already got our hair cut. :-( We regreted getting the hair cut there. We're never going to get our hair cut there again!!!

This monday me and Intan went to Nilai and stay there for the night. It was very hectic. My brother wasn't well prepared so everything was out of place. So chaotic that i can't even pour it into words. Bah.

Mira joined us the following day (cuz she wanted to spend one night in Semenyih), and then the three of us went back to Semenyih, ON A CAB! That was another mistake my brother makes. I was feeling bad for Mira and Intan so i decided to pay full price for the cab. But then Intan 'donated' RM 10 and Mira another RM 5 so i 'just' had to pay RM 40. Oh brother.

On wednesday me and Mira went to Bukit Bintang (again). But this time i went there to upgrade my lappy's RAM. Where else to go but Low Yat plaza? I bought the 256mb RAM card which cost me RM 80. And then we went to a computer hypermarket one floor above. Mira bought a mouse and a mouse pad. I bought a laptop cooler which cost RM 58. I wanted to buy the Cooler Master one, but it's damn expensive! When i went back to Semenyih, it was raining very hard. I was soaking wet. Fortunately my lappy bag is water proof. hehe. I got back right, and i tried my lappy right away. I was very pleased with it! Thanks to the extra RAM now my lappy is not as slow as it used to be... HAHAHA. and the cooler works quite well, too!

The first day of testing in Bahrain went exceptionally well for my two heroes Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa. Massa led the pack with 1:31.766 and Kimi recorded second best time with 1:31.901. Forza Ferrari!

More to come!

To top it all...

5-11 Feb 2007

Lots of new lecturers. I got Sri Fatimah for both of my IT subjects. She's Indonesian :-). She's pretty nice. Strict, but i like the way she teaches. She loves audience participation. Then I got a new Chemistry lecturer, Mr Yeoh. He was a lecturer in INTI before this, he taught A Level Chemistry (wow). He's SO MUCH BETTER than Chiang. At least he knows how to make funny jokes (Chiang and his so called jokes will burn in hell). New English lecturer: Ms Ann. My first Malay lecturer. Nice and funny. Grace Yap for Algebra. Grace Yap supervised my group for Calmat last sem, but she didn't actually teach us. This is the first time we experience her teaching. And she's DAMN good!!! And i don't know that she speaks EXCELLENT english!!! Bravo!

No Lab and Calmat for the first 3 weeks. good. good. good. At least i can focus on my English project. A bloody tough one, it is. Talk about English project! I have one Nigerian guy in my group who's very hard to work with. Those guys are weird, i tell you. I'm not being racist here. It's the fact. I have no troubles with the other African dudes (the non-Nigerian ones). but with this particular group, i don't know what is it with them that makes them soooooo unapproachable.

And then there's this Indonesian Society meeting (tuesday 6 feb). It was quite fun. We decided that our society name would be 'Indonesian Students in Nottingham University' or ISN for short. There is 1 thing that literally disgust me during the meeting though: this one guy whose name is Firdaus. He's a pain in the arse. Totally! I wished i could've just kicked him during the meeting.

I bought Keane's Under the Iron Sea CD+DVD which is AWESOME! I can watch the "work in progress" video, which featured a lot of Tim *^_^*. I was even happier to find that the price is actually cheaper than the 'real' price. I checked on Amazon, the thing cost about RM 78. I bought the CD for 71.50! What a super saver!

On top of all the excitement and bewilderment (haha), i discovered just today that Keane DID NOT win the Grammy for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal (for the song Is It Any Wonder?). They lost to Black Eyed Peas' My Humps. CAN U BELIEVE THAT??? it's just preposterous! Those bloody Americans. They don't know what good music is. I'd be better off with The Fray walking out with the Grammy. But instead, a stupid, cheap, bitchy song won it. Argh. I can feel the world capsizing!!!

29 jan - 4 feb 2007

10 things i did and found over the course of the week

1. I went to MidValley Megamall alone on wednesday. I had nobody to accompany me so i decided to venture by myself :-( sad...

2. My bro came and brought me a set of SPEAKERS!!! yay!!!

3. Kimi Raikkonen was doing pretty well with the new F2007. He wrapped up the Valencia testing sessions with P2 (Lewis Hamilton of McLaren Mercedes got P1). Nice job, Iceman! It proved that you are worthy of the Ferrari seat and the team is moving on very well without Michael Schumacher and the two RB (Ross Brawn and Rory Byrne).

4.  Bravo to "A Bad Dream", Keane's newest single. After its release, Keane's (UK) album sales increase amazingly from the 24th spot up to 8th position! in just ONE WEEK!!! can you believe that????

5. I participated in Keane's Official Forum and i opened up an account in deviantART (this was kiki's fault. hehe).

6. I went swimming on thursday. My 4th time swimming in the sports complex. hehehehehe :-P.

7. Newsflash: Nicole Scherzinger, the frontwoman of The Pussycat Dolls collaborates with dear Tim Rice-Oxley of Keane on her upcoming solo album. Wow. Tim is DEFINITELY a babe magnet. It's true what Gwen Stefani said after her collaboration with Tim. She said there will be lots of female artists that are going to work with Tim. And there you have it!

8. Some parts of Jakarta is now covered with FLOOD!!! bah!!!

9. I never knew that the Armenian Genocide existed before i read this month's Reader's Digest. So sad.

10. Keane announced dates for Latin American tour. Ok, so Europe and the Americas are covered. The big question: when will they tour Asia??? :-(

Sponsor Stupidity

Vodafone. The only word I can think of when I hear that name is: STUPID. Come on... they let go 2 of the top sports teams of the moment!!! First, they let go of MU. Like, hello... MU is like, the biggest, most popular football club ever!!! Practically everybody knows MU and most of them love MU. And just now, they let go of Ferrari. WHAT??? They must be kidding. Aiyo "-_-. They switched sides to McLaren. People. Don't you know how rusty that team is??? And don't you know that F1 fans all over the world prefer Kimi Raikkonen over Fernando Alonso??? HELLO!!! Kimi Raikkonen is now in Ferrari!!! Those Vodafone must be blind and insane. Don't they know how PROFITABLE those two teams are??? DON'T THEY KNOW IT???
